I'm a wife and busy mom of 2 boys working a full time corporate job. I love all things simple, practical, beautiful and classic. I hope this space connects women, used as a resource and always keeping things "real"... real reviews, real products, real connection and real ideas. I've always loved the challenge of replicating elevated styles (home + fashion) at an affordable cost. Growing up, my Mom would always allow me to get creative by redecorating my room, moving furniture, switch details from one room to the other while making the space seem so new, even though nothing was purchased in the process. My Dad was a home builder and I got to walk jobsites with him, putty trim, prep for painters, look at blue prints and embrace the practical side of a home.
Someone once told me that the key to a happy life is to think back to when you were a child, think about activities you naturally gravitated toward. Think about what hobbies, interests, or things that you just loved to do. If you can pinpoint that, then, figure out how to turn that into a job, hobby, philanthropy or business. The outcome is living out who you are meant to be, your true self, true happiness.
Have you ever seen that meme circulating on the interwebs "For all you that kept getting TALKS TOO MUCH on their report card in school, what do you do for work now?" I have to laugh because that was absolutely me - and now? Full time corporate recruiter TALKING. But there is a quieter side to me where I think, create, analyze, help, solve, imagine, dream. So, now that my boys are 4 and 6 years old and we are out of the toddler/infant stage, I find myself trying to redefine my interests, who I am, who I've always been even as a kid. Those same interests hold true.
We live in the beautiful state of Florida (born & raised!) and i define my life as days filled with fun and brightness, yet can also be tiring - just like the sun (kind of like a day fishing on the boat in the sun with salty hair and sun kissed cheeks, but the sun can be harsh and beautifully exhausting). But our days could also be described as smooth, rhythmic, gentle, cool - just like silk. It's about finding the balance and appreciating the journey. Sun and Silk Living.
I am by no means an interior designer or taking strides to become one. I simply want to share, create and just have some fun with this platform!
